    I'm having a hood closing problem. The latch will not shut tight and I'd really hate for the hood to fly open on the freeway. Is my problem because the latch plate is worn after 50+ years of use? Should this area (arrows) be straight. If it does I may have to fab one unless anyone out there has one they might wanna' sell. Thanks-stick

    Thet knotch is stock, I have a fairly low mileage 49 (sat since 1968) looks just like your pics. Try adjustin the pin in the hood?...........OLDBEET

    Old Beet is right about the notch, I have a few hood latch plates here on the garage wall and all look the same. If it just started having a problem I'd look at the spring first. If the spring is weak or is dragging on the plate then it won't push the latch back onto the hood pin...
