Technical 49-51 merc guys i got a question

ive got a 50 merc coupe and im having trouble finding a hood safety catch as this one is missing.does anybody make this new?orknow a merc specific parts place,or can anyone show a pic of theirs so i can copy it.thanks everyone

 

My buddy bought one for a '51 Ford at Joblot Automotive. it looks a lot like the Merc latch.

Not hard to make. Just a flat "hook", a spring, and a pin. Do you have any of the parts? If you need to make one, I can put up a good picture of one.

 

I've got a couple of Merc shells I was planning to cut up for a custom project and I doubt I'd use that safety catch, I'm sure I could part with one if you can't find one elsewhere.
