Hi. Was wondering if anyone has actual experience subframing a merc with either a Camaro or a Nova subframe. The 68-74 Nova has a track width of 59.8 and the 76-80 Camaro has a track width of 61.3. I do not know the frame rail width of these two are. I have read a couple of articles and one says you have to use Camaro and the other claims the Camaro won't work and you have to use the Nova. So if anyone has done this please let us know which one you used and your experience with it. Thanks

Don't know that this will help but several frame swaps have been done with mid-70's Oldsmobile chassis. You may want to measure one of these.

i have seen alot of cars after the camaro swap, and they look kinda hokey when put next to a merc on a stock chassis. the wheels seem to stick too far out. i am trying an alternate subframe that i havent seen done on a merc yet, when done and if it works out alright i will post about it, but til then dont want to waste bandwith on a "it might work" thread. look into the olds swap, the late 70s oldsmobile 98s i believe had a 118" wb, and they seem to fit nicely under the merc bodies...gives ya 4 way coils as i believe too, so future bagging will be somewhat easier i would imagine in the future.

early camaro with rear steer works in a merc but when you put the aftermarket disk brakes on it it moves the wheels out 3/4 per side giving it that crappy look.

00 Mack's merc with 69 camaro front clip drum brakes and standard offset wheels
