49-52 chevy disk brake kit ?????'s

    Looking to upgrade my 51 to dual master and front disks.
    Who sells the best set up?
    What have y'all used?

    Buncha people have used the kit from ECI

    They have a Master Cyl. kit, too that goes under the floor.

    i allso found out on rodding round table that u can use full size blazer backing plates with g body calipers and 80's tornodo rotors work to, even with the stock bearings.

    watson fabrication sells the power master cylinder kit for the firewall and ive seen the whole kit ( calipers, brackets, rotors, ect) in the chevys of the 40's catalog

    Master Power Brakes also makes a kit for your car, its about the same price as the ECI

    I am runnin the master poweer kit.
    pros:
    Easy install.
    clean (nothing on firewall)
    easy to get parts.
    well made.

    cons:
    ****in pricey
    performance is so so.

    that sounds like an awesome lowbuck set up. Please explain or point us to the article.

    Someone here needs to try this, take lots of pic, then post a tech article.

    An 80s Chevy S10/GMC S15 brake pedal, booster, and master cylinder can be adapted to a 49-52 Chevy pretty easily...hell, I did it with nothing more than a ****py hand drill, a few dull bits, some pliers, a hacksaw, and basic hand tools!

    It puts the booster and master cylinder on the firewall under the hood...easy to get to and it looks like it belongs there! The pedal sits a bit high on mine, but I can live with it!

    Go for the under the floor kit. The other looks tacky. Mine came from Fat man and its basicly all 70-82 camero/nova stuff except for the inner bearing. Which comes in handy when stuck on the side of the road.
