Just curious; Are you working on the Chrysler? That thing is very cool!

  6. This is a 50's magazine article car, there are more picts somewhere. Always liked it and still do. JW

hey hey Jacksmith..plan was get the 51 Chrysler on the road by summer....got parts for the build..Engine , trans , intake , carb , wiring kit , etc...it sits crazy low ...reversed spring pockets upfront and 4 inch blocks out back....replace stock steering box witha 505 manual and cross steering...May just swap out the enitre frame with a more modern roller,,,,,,the fun never ends....

Decided to sell the 4 speed...if it doesnt sell by spring..ill keep it and use a slave cylinder to actuate the clutch ...mechanical linkage is ok too..just the slave cylinder is a good option...

  9. You might also look at the cable system used in some Ford products. @HOTRODPRIMER posted some details of his installation a few months ago...

I use hydraulic master/slave on two of my cars and highly recommend that type of hydraulic clutch actuation.

I don't have specs, but I used a (not H.A.M.B. friendly) Wilwood master/ slave w/ remote resevour on the '59 Hawk. I wouldn't go that way again, it was a little scetchy.
On my coupe I used a late 50's/early 60's Ford truck master/ slave which works really well. I got the parts from stock @ Mac's. (These pics aren't the greatest, but you get the idea...) IMG_0158.JPG IMG_0157.JPG

This car has the look! Is there a build thread? I tried to research it but am having trouble. I have seen a few people post pictures so I don’t know whose it is?

Man, I don’t know if you need to chop it.
This looks amazing just the way it is!

I pulled these 2 photos off of a recent post from a member who took a ton of photos of peoples cars at an event in CA. Amazing photos. Not mine. But I thought the cars were so cool I had to post them!

what is the maroon coupe? Plymouth but what model? The wagon really does it for me! It’s got perfectly aged paint and sits just right. I wonder if the owner is a member?

link to post but lots of non thread correct cars-

Seems this is a '53 Dodge wagon. It was owned by George Cavanaugh, used to deliver bundles of newspapers for delivery, and customized by Valley Custom. Sorry, I couldn't seem to enlarge the photo.... 400px-George-Cavanah-1953-Dodge-3 (2).jpg

A friend had a '49 Dodge that he ran a couple times in the Carrera Panamericana back in the 90's. It was fluorescent pink, and ran like stink. I have lost the pics I had of the bugger, but the attached is the mill that it ran.......It has been "freshened up" but never run since. If you have a good home for this puppy, PM me. I hate to let it go, but I am ancient and know I will never put it to good use..... dodge 230.jpg

I've had that happen... I pulled the top off the carb to check out the floats and there was this greenish residue all up in there. I was told it's caused by the ethanol in gas these days. It did crust up a little around the little port holes and what not. It's worth a try.
I use Ethanol Defense in premium gas now and it seems to help.

Two years on the current swill that call gas is a very long time. What you have now might not even burn!
Clean out the carb, install a new fuel filter and fresh gas and see if it doesn't run better.

Some awesome cars pictured here. Being older than dirt and not enough money leaves me out of the customs game. However, I do have a Mopar. A really comfortable cruiser and I won't change it. I know, some will say I'm some new kind of fool. That's okay. Here is a picture of my '48 Chrysler Windsor:
