I am redoing my 51 chevy. going to shave some trim and emblems including the trunk. I want to shave the key hole also. what have you Rockstars done for latches and how are you opening (solenoid, cable ??) I know alot of you have cars with shaved locks.

I had thought about flipping the ***emble so the key hole was in the panel below the trunk (but hidden behind the license plate). Anyone do this?

Appreciate any info and pictures on your set up.

Just a plain choke cable and carb return spring will do the trick.

so you are leaving the stock latch and running the cable up the deck lid, down the hinge and into the rear compartment

I'm going to leave the cable loose up to the hinge and then run it thru a brake line to make the curves going into the p***anger compartment ........that's the plan anyway.

that's what I'm doing to mine... very simple L-bracket with a single hole screwed to the inside of the trunk lid and a pull nob with a long rod to catch the hole. Hidden behind the fuel lid.
