49' 8ba truck flattie to 3 speed overdrive

Can I interchange a 50' ford bellhousing to a 49' 8ba truck flattie? I wanna use the 3 speed overdrive.

 

I don't see why not. I have my overdrive ****** bolted to the truck bellhousing, and everything seems to be working out fine.

There is no functional difference between the cast bellhousing and the stamped steel bellhousing.

 

But there is a difference between car and truck bellhousing. Yes the bellhousing will interchange

 

Thanks guys! I'll hook it up in the morning. Then mock up the motor.

 

Remember you need starter plate as well...all differ between the several bellhousings.
