Just got done reading this all the way through. Between the chop, section and 540 c.i. Caddy mill this is one over the top Caddy! I'm really digging what you've done. Will be following from here on out. Eli

WOW...!!! That's a great look...you don't even need words to describe those pix...the Caddy is coming out great...

FWIW James, my Sedanet is still in the shed...a '60 Pontiac Catalina nine passenger wagon got in the way...and it's about to go around the block on its maiden voyage...and then the '60 Chevy two door wagon is getting rolled in -have a 454", with nitrous and a built T-400, waiting under the bench for that one. Once that one gets drivable, then the '48 Sedanet will get pushed back in the garage...

Thanx for asking...and I'm just enjoying the '55 Caddy right now...

Thanks man and keep up the good work and I am certain you are also an insperation to others on this site. :)

What engine are you using as the base for the 540 c.i. motor?

Killer car, looks cool can't wait to see it finished

  23. Unless you need an adjustable set-up (for a solid cam) the billet 1.7:1 roller rockers from MTS are a nice way to get the job done for $500. They're actually Harland Sharp rockers...with a good set of springs and these rockers my Caddy goes north of 5k rpm without issue. Of course the Edelbrock intake chokes much past 5k...

    BLA, BLA, BLA

    Back to your build!!

    Hey James,
I wish I had as much time as you to work on my 49.
Thanks again for the vent windows mate, I will somehow repay the favor.
The caddy is lookin delicious.... Keep it up man. Can't wait to see what you have planned for the front half. Are you going to use the caddy side stainless?
    Thanks again

I choked too on the rockers, which limits my 472 to 4500, but it's scary enough at that, so I'm good!

    Beautiful, beautiful car!

James, just a heads up, Potter Automotive is no longer owned by the Potters,Cadco bought them out just recently.
Marty from MTS will take care of your caddy needs, can't beat them for price and service.
