    James,

Your Sedanette will be the wildest and best version of the fastback out there when it's done. The 'bird rear seat is a nice touch, I wouldn't want to set back there my head might go through the roof. Looking forward to seeing a great Caddy done. Now, that picture of you is quit nice not one bit goofy let's see a real goofy one.

Since you've gone to all the work of doing "minor" changes to the body, one can only speculate about the "minor" changes on the front...just don't put any quad headlights in it...!!!

Quad headlights "work" in some Kustoms...but in your case, James (and IMHO, which prolly isn't worth much), there's not enough "body" mods -read that: taillight change, grille change (yet), bumper change, rolled pans, scoops, etc., on your Caddy to warrant quad headlights. I think they'd look out of place.

However, never say never...it's your car...!!!

LOL...maybe..but you've certainly pushed the boundaries on your Sedanet by chopping and modifying the rear fenders...however, mine is not going to get that much work...I'm simply not that adept (even tho a small chop would improve the lines)...I tend to "modify" what's there with an eye to "improving"...

FWIW, I've got a line on a '55 Cadillac two door hardtop right now that's a running driving car, equipped with a Northstar and 700R-4...and it's a complete rust-free car with all new chrome and gl***. I ran across it at the last GoodGuy's event and have been negotiating with the gentleman that owns it (not in this state, tho). He told me he likes to build, but doesn't like to finish...so, the Sedanet may stay in the shed for a while longer...

Man I thought the section and chop was plenty, the front end would look great as close to stock as pissible, maybe change the bumper and grill a bit but quads?

Post about that big 540 caddy, what rear gear will you be running?

hey thanks for 4x2 early cad props!

That combo of the intake pictured and the already very deep oil pan on the 500 will be very tall

They already make 500ftlbs of torque!!! but you got the ch***is and rearend to handle it so why not... 3.50 gear should be pretty ridiculous out the hole... are you gonna do an overdrive trans?

  22. We ran the 472 Cad with the Edlebrock high rise with edlebrock carb and 4" high air cleaner and I got six more inches left but I didn't section the car either, good luck, Rags

  23. Also we used an oil filter off of a 425 motor with the oil pan off of a front wheel drive El Dorado. Rags

James you know me and i like Quads but i personally think they might look to heavy on your sectioned Caddy. If you made up a set of quads that use the real small lights like used on the Jade idle but put them close together it would work. Your Caddy's side profile is going to be very sleek so IMHO i think chrome plated 1957 Olds light slightly leaned forward on the top would be SOME THING DIFFERENT and the cats meow.

That intake looks like it will be a very high rpm'er and with those bad *** heads you better get some real good rotating parts to keep up with them.

    Gday James
Just a flash back, when you welded on your rear fenders after you spent days grinding what did you fill the seam with to blend it into the body.
Cheers your annoying australian buddy Darren......
