'49 chevy rearend conversion

Do you know what rearend will fit under a '49 chevy without too much trouble? We're using a 700r4 tranny and would like something that will give good hiway gears. thanks

 

Check 67-74 Novas/Omegas/etc., 67-69 Camaros in the GM line, also S10 Chevy pickups. These will have correct bolt pattern except the pickup.

Ford 8" 65-68 Mustangs/Cougars/Falcon/Comet, 71-74 Maverick/Comet, 70s mid-size Fords/Mercs.

Ford 9" any 57-90 cut to fit.

 

I used a 70 Nova in mine worked great!!!
