Projects 49 coronet build

first off let me just say that i am not an experienced builder and i have no clue what i'm doing but it sure is fun!! i'm learning as i go and i'm learning a lot. to say the least. here's some pics of the untouched gem of the junkyard.... left forgotten, no one wanted her and she was destined for the crusher in a month. needless to say i shelled out $600 and signed the original pink (i wanted to keep it) so i'm second owner besides the s**** yard. the tags were even up to date!

My '51 coupe was also rescued from the s****yard a few years ago.

very cool. i aslo have a 51 coronet 4 door that comes after this one. he wanted $2000 for it but i haggled him down to $200 and a watch!

no solid plan as of yet but i'm sure i want to do the best i can on a budget. cleaning and welding a lot so far....

 

finishing up the frame today, cleaned it up welded a small 1/4" piece, and applying KBS frame coat.

i'm having one hell of a time finding any kind of parts for this car. i need lug studs, body mount kit, bushings ect. i'm finding nothing on line. been searching for weeks...

Start with http://www.oldmoparts.com/Default.htm they have just about everything you need. There are plenty of hambers on here that have built a few of these. Try http://www.50plymouth.com, or http://www.oldplymouths.com. A lot of the stuff is still available from O'Reilly auto parts.
