hi all , im terry from ireland and i just wanted to share my latest project with you guys , its a barn find which had been stored for over 20 years before we got our hands on it , according to the ***le its 49' and was shipped to ireland from the states in 52' and then converted to a he**** , sadly during the conversion the rear part of the cab and the pick up " tub " was removed and the new he**** body shaped to suit using aluminum , it was seized when we got it but we removed the plugs and filled the bores with coke and WD40 mixed and left it soak for a few days before we tried a combination of rocking it in gear whilst trying to turn the ring gear with a large pry bar !! after a few goes she finally let go and is now freed up enough to try to start her , i need some new plugs and need to get the carburetor checked over before i try to fire her up , my long term goal is to restore it back to an original pick up and keep it stock but i am also torn with the idea of slamming it and making it into a rat-rod tow truck !!! what would you recommend guys ?? few pictures .
...looks like you have your work cut out for you....... How easy will you be able to find another cab and bed? You may also want to visit www.p15-d24.com .
Seems like it would be most valuable as a he**** to me but maybe not in Ireland? Its cool as is id clean it and sell it as a survivor and buy a pick up mean by the time you change the cab and bed youve just about rebodied the thing
Clean it up, get it running, fix the brakes, add new tires, put curtains in the windows, drive the heck out of it.
That is very cool, and old he****s were very popular as 'support' vehicles for racers when they could find one. Another vote for clean 'er up and drive.... You won't see another one at any show.
