I have a chance to buy a 49 f-1 and I'm wondering if it would be beneficial for my Av8 build that I'm starting? Would I be better off looking for a Tardel cross member, brakes, and steering. Or go for the F-1, it has a running flathead but I already have that and the transmission.
If you get it you would have the juice brakes, steering box, shock mounts. I love using the f1 crossmember, with a little fitting it works great and usually about 400 cheaper than a K member. On the truck I'm. Building now I used the wishbone ball socket out of a 34 and mounted it to the F1 crossmember so I didn't have to split the wishbones.
