Technical 49 ford exhaust

im putting exhaust on my 49 ford four door it has v8 and im going with stock single exhaust with smithy muffler... is it 2inch to the muffler and 1 3/4 behind the muffler ? should I use 22, 26 or 30 inch muffler? what is the difference in them ? thanks for help

 

Difference is the length . Pitch my be a tad different. Also depends on the space you have to work with .

 

V8? Flathead, dual 1 3/4" to the bumper with, or without, the mufflers of choice. Ask on the Ford Barn for a restorers point of view.
