Been working on and off on this thing for 9 years. Finally , finally on the road. It's not perfect by any means , not even close to perfect but I did it. It has a 355 SBC. 5 speed & sits on a 80 Malibu frame. chopped 6" in the back and 4-1/2" in the front Sorry for the ****ty phone photos, I gotta get a real camera. Now excuse me as I leave to beat the **** out of it.
Congratulations on being able to drive a long term project,,,9 years is a long time ,,I know you are thrilled,,looks great! HRP
Nine years.......Wow, I can't imagine the patience and all of the **** that you went through to get the Merc on the road. Kongrats on the sucess and enjoy driving her around. Looking at what you did to the running gear it will be driving a lot. Very kool!! Happy Trails, Mick
IMHO......... You did an amazing job, you should be extremely proud!! You definitely have a beautiful merc!! Ian
I should explain something I guess, the 9 years was divided up by getting the ****s working on it a few times, it just burned me out, getting un hitched and fighting for custody of the car for a year, building the 468 big block S-10 shown sitting behind the Merc in one photo in that period and working on the 49 Chev Aero Cp. shown in garage background on one photo . Work on one get the ****s , work on another , get the ****s, work on another , get the ****s, etc. etc. etc. But all in all it was a long time and the interior is still not done. I did get a front bench seat in it, no more sitting on a U bolted down, folding lawn chair.
