Building it now for about 5 years. getting painted and almost finished. Bought my first Merc back in the fifties (yes the fifties) right after Rebel Without A Cause. Grew up in So cal back in the 50's.Lucky enough to have met Von Dutch when he was more than a hat.. Need some help with the Merc finishes. Gotta be old school. Appleton spots. We only knew them as spots Didn't know a 112 from a 552. what i do know is back then in my group everyone wanted baby spots. Now after searching the boards ,Baby spots are***** and you gotta have 552's . I****ume that 550's and 551's came out before 552's. Why not use them ? help me out here . because Barris put 552.s (we think) on a couple of cars we all have to pay really big bucks for them. ' he put carriage lights on a couple of cars, maybe the Merc should have carrige lights! Just joking. Have a lot of money invested in the Merc. Don't want it to look like***** just because i don't want to spend 3 grand on spots. . Seriously help me out here. Getting a complex because I don' t want to spend the big bucks for 552'. How about an opinion on wheels . Chrome reverse with baby moons or maybe Sombrero or Spinners. Any input will be appreciated
