Very nice car, great detail and paint work! But it seems almost more prostreet than g***er with the narrowed rear axle and the wrong engine. With that kind of $$ invested, a late or early HEMI or even a WEDGE would have been nice. A g***er typically has radiused rear wheelwells and the rear tires sticking out a bit (or a bunch!). Still a very nice car, good job!
Hope you don't mind me posting a pic of my car here. I just thought the rollpan was cool because that's what I did to my 50 recently.
thanks guys, look for the car at Scottsdale GG this year. He should have it on the road by then. We lost that car and a 57 ranchero for his buddy. both went the same path to be finished, and now they are calling us for help fixing issues the other guys created. Both should be neat cars. As for the BBC etc, that was the plan from the start, and fit well for what the owner wanted, I just wish the engine was detailed out a bit better.
Hey Greg i also have a similar plymouth and i really want a straight front axle, where did you get yours? Or what did it come off of. and was it a ***** or no...thanks
Jim, it was a ton of work due to the owners request of where the frame be cut, and his initial desire to run a true "straight" axle, (no drop). I first had the front rails straight out of the frame, and the straight axle, the car sat about 10 INCHES higher in the front! after locating the new clip on top of the factory rails (z'ing the frame), and switching to a drop axle, we got the front in the area we wanted. It sits with the bottom of the front fender about at the top of the rim. All the front end parts came from MAS racing, but I have heard they may be closing down. Speedway will be the next best thing for all new components. if you look at the link above to our website, there are photos of the build, from the beginning.
ok cool thanks for the help i appreciate it, now i just got to save some pennies and see what i can do....i think yours turned out real good!
