After my original rad came back from the shop the core looked Swiss cheese. The cheapest I could find a recore was $600 so I ended up with a bright shinny new aluminum piece for less than half the price. The only down side after I resealed the flathead 6 I left it rusty and original and the clean new rad didn't fit in at all. I decided to age the rad before I installed it. First try at this so let me know what you think.

It is a Champion rad and came from Radiator Galaxy. I can did up the paperwork to get the part number. There were 2 chooses for the '49 and I chose the one closes to the measurement of the stocker but the hood would not close after I got it bolted in. I had to mod the core support it lower it down about 3/4 of an inch. Nice solid piece otherwise.

  4. I hope that you used thin radiator paint so that the radiator will not overheat.
