I'll be fitting an 87 Mustang T5 in my 49 shoebox, picked up an adapter plate from Modern Driveline that will allow me to use the stock release brg. and pilot brg. and clutch fork I'll need to get a different disc. I read the post on the Chev T5 conversion and pretty much have an idea as to clutch linkage and cross member modifications (great post thanks!) Question is this... if anyone has done this conversion with this Mustang trans will the shifter clear a bench seat? Dave in CT
I've got a 93 Mustang T-5 in my 50. Unfortunately I have bucket seats also, so can't answer your question for certainty. However I have seen some shoeboxes with bench seats that were notched in the center. Most upholstery places can make this modification.
The mustang shifter is back further than the S-10 T-5. I have a Mustang T-5 transmission in my wagon and I had t move the seat back to clear the shifter. HRP
Danny Thanks for the info, looked at your album nice build. Did some research on shift levers and Hurst makes one for the tri five that is for bench seat when used with a Camaro T5. Looks like that should work with the least amount of modification. Did you use the Ford cross member in the wagon? Dave
