49 to 50 chevy whats different

How else can I tell if I have a 49 or 50 Chevy car besides the grill and trunk handle. Right now I have a 49 grill and a 50 deck lid, so I'm not sure if it's a 49 or 50. It was recently titled as a 50 but the previous owner wasn't sure when he titled it. Thanks

 

the gauges will have a dark brown background on a 49, as will the clock face. 50 will be gray.

49 will have the cool license gaurd up front .. 50's will not

if you have any type of heater in the car,, 49 will be brown.. 50 will be green or dark grey

tail light lenses on a 50 poke up from the housing, 49's are flat.

 

I have to check the gauge color but the car came pretty much as a basket of parts he collected so maybe I can tell by the number on the firewall or something of that nature if I could find a way to decode those numbers.
