We have been getting alot of calls lately from people wanting to buy our upgraded stock A-arms to ball joints as they have seen or heard about ours. In the past we made them for our customers only. We now have them avail in an exchange or build yours for you. We have been making these style of a-arms for about 16 years or so with great results. We designed our arms to use the 1st gen camaro dropped spindel and the stock camaro steering arms. We also used the stronger 2nd gen camaro upper ball joint with a mid 80's gm truck lower ball joint for added saftey and strengh . Our a-arms will work with coil springs but we orginally desined them to work well on a lower budget air bagged set up. If interested pm me.
Interesting- subscribing to this one. Are you able to use a Ford hub (aerostar) to keep the 5x4.5 pattern wheel? JK
If you are thinking about adding front air suspension to your mercury and want improved handeling at the same time check out these numbers. At full suspension lift we shimed our ball jointed a-arms to have a camber of -2 deg, then lowered it 2.5" you now have -1 deg, lower it another 1.75" you now have 0 deg, lower it another 1.75" and you still have 0 deg, lower it yet another 1.75" you now have +1 deg. That is a total of only 3 degs camber change with a full 7.75" of spindle movement. Now compare thoes numbers to any mustang 2 set up or tubular a-arm kit on the market. If you prefer the old school coil springs our a-arm kit works very well also and will lower your merc about 2.5" with the stock coil spring so there is no need to buy new coil springs.
I saw this being done. I check on my Merc at least once a week or every 2 weeks. Rick was setting this up, I had no idea what he was doing, but once he explained it to me, and showed me. I couldnt believe it. Some of the engineering, and quality of work Rick does is starting to make me think he's an ex Russian spy, hiding out as a Builder. Rick has to secretly be making a bomb to destroy the Inland Empire. Rick just let me get my car out before you do.. Awesome Work!
Hey Rick I should of bought your a arm kit a few mounts ago but to be honest I was thinking of buying Jamco's new Mercury tubular a arms. I did call Jim at Jamco to order them but after talking to him he did not recomend adding air ride to them. I know you use the camaro brake rotor in your kit with the 5 on 4.75 inch bolt pattern can you do them with the stock mercury 5 on 5.5 inch bolt pattern ?
