Are you saying I should replace gaskets and torque down in that sequence?

No, just tighten them for now. Then check around the ports for a leak while it is running. Carb spray. See if any kind of bubbling happens. Check your carb base nuts as well.

Is that a spreadbore intake? Or just a square bore type.
That fancy pcv with the hose to the carb might be a vacuum leak too!

It must fit snugly, like all the vacuum lines. Is the modulator connection tight? We should make a check list and thoroughly go down it, one by one...I went through the same drill when 1st getting my Impala back on the road. The same vac/carb issues.

Have you checked the timing since you have hooked up the vacuum advance? I looked and didn't really see if you found out if the vacuum canister is shot.

Was there one gasket or 2 gaskets with a thin plate between the carb and intake?
What is the name on the intake?
Do you have a pic of the old gasket you took out?

Im pretty sure its called "Street Dominator" There is no plate between carb and intake just a gasket, I do not have a picture of the old gasket.

    I stand corrected!
Lift up your carb and check first.

If he had a square bore carb on a spread bore manifold, sure he would. The square bore is not big enough to cover the spread bore's hole. If you try it the other way, spread bore carb on a square bore intake, the secondary throttle plate can't open because the manifold hole is to small.

Yup you'll need the adaptor. You must have some speed shops in your area besides the parts stores.
Let us know when you get it ready to install and we'll give some tips on carb installation. Then we'll get you fixed up on your vacuum pot on your distributor and your timing and carb tuning.
Do you have a vacuum gauge and a timing light?

I have searched for some local speed shops and nothing comes up. I don't have a vacuum gauge or timing light either unfortunately.
