I searched google and found a couple. So tomorrow I will call around and see who might have one in stock and if not then I will order from summit. What is the exact I am looking for? Spread bore adapter plate for spread bore carb?

Square bore carb TO a spread bore intake adapter plate. Have your carb # and intake part # ready to answer any questions the parts guy may need.

I was just about to order the carb plate from summit but noticed it was a steel plate not aluminum. Does it really matter?

No! Steel is better! Stays rigid! Doesn't bend! Stays flat!

Pop off the distributor cap. Hook your vac hose up to the pot and **** on it real hard. you should see the point plate move. If it doesn't move then blow into the hose and listen for an air leak on the pot.
In this link you'll see where the pot is attached to inside the distributor. Under the attachment plate is a rod that hooks into the point plate. You might be able to touch the rod with your finger if you reach under the pot close to the distributor housing and feel if it moves too.

Perfect! I will try that later this evening. I have to roll the car out of the driveway since I took the carb off. The adapter plate for the carb should be here by tomorrow no later then thursday from summit. I cant wait to get this car running and driving again.

When you put the carb back on make sure you put a gasket on first then the plate then another gasket then the carb. Set the carb on and put the nuts on finger tight. Tighten one corner a half turn and go to the opposite corner and go a half turn there then swap to the other corners. Continue on an X pattern tightening a half turn at a time. The bolts need to be snug but not super tightened. That way it will be level and vacuum leak free.

Finally!! The carb plate came in today. Im happy I can finally put it back together. Im not very happy that its steel and it looks like that anodized look. Oh well not like its a show car I guess. Also what side faces down? summit is stamped on one side and there is a notch cut out of on of the sides you can see in the pic.

It could go whatever direction but the notch is probably to allow access to the secondary throttle screw on the p***enger rear with the logo up.
