I'm sure that would be welcome. Let's just say I'm making sure my AAA is paid up!

Hey guys ..I'm sorta just kidding about flatheads. I'm pretty sure I was scouring the junkyards for flathead parts before a lot here were born. I've had my share of them. I will admit that they are cool, but reliable ...well. I was also trying to get some of you going a bit.

I ran several different flatheads in my 40 Coupe the last being a 48 Merc, then an Olds Rocket 324. But it wasn't until I put a 327 SBC in it that I felt I had the right engine. Each to his own.

Rewired my engine bay and dash. Drove the car around a bit, ran cool. Front brakes this weekend, lube stuff, wire the OD, etc...

Cool, glad I'm not the only T heading up from the west side.

Anyone else running any true T's on the west side team?

I have to wire up my kickdown switch for my OD and then give my 1950 Fordor 8ba a few shakedown cruises, but I should be ready.

I don't understand what would break down on a flathead that wouldn't on a sbc

I gotta pick up a guy in Enumclaw at around 7. I'm willing to meet up and caravan over. My speed will depend on if I get my OD wired up and working in time.

Or a VW or a Toyota or any of those other dead on the side of the road rigs that lay along side the road when you go over the p***. If the vehicle is in good shape and up to a road trip there shouldn't be a problem. It's seldom the engine that fails anyhow but usually the electrical system or fuel system that leaves a guy stranded on the side of the road of one of them is suspect.
