I’m after a good flow on my 32 5W and get a cool ’rake’ is frame as wheels, tires, axle drop, front cross both height and position.
My plan was use 16” wheels and 4.50 front and 7.50 rear, A-Ford cross and I has a old drop 34 axle as I thought was a 4” dropped.
But as I has a foot in the so call ’era correct’ I has not been into more than maybe install a A-Ford cross. My std 32 cross is modify and its actually just get me 1/8” lower if install the A cross.
I guess few did go that low back then but its not impossible some used a flat cross, or ?
    Tony T’s 5W has a ( I think a Super Vell forged 5” dropp ) and a flat cross and 4.50 tires on 16” wheels ( 7.50 rear )
Super nice rake on that car plus the chop is awsome.
Even if it was not common use a flat cross back then flow or rake if the car is more important than the era ideas.

    -I has 2 questions.

Is my axle at 5” dropp ? Se picture.
Is it possible modify the std 32 cross go flat or use the A cross and go flat.

That axle is about 3.5 or 4” total drop.

As to the second question, anything is possible if you have enough talent or money.

If you want to see 5 inch axles and flat cross members moved ahead an inch or so go to Steadfast Manufacturing's Instagram page. Lots to look at there.

The amount of drop is the difference between a stock axle (which has some drop) and the dropped axle, not as you show.
