Cornhuskers rod & Custom offers an adapter for a T-5 trans behind a flatty....think it's about four hundred bux, but it might solve the problem....

  3. You can buy the Offy adaptor and make it work. Rocky did this on the 33. It was a fun truck to drive with that******* behind the flatty

  4. Motor City Flathead in Dundee MI has built a few cars with 5-speeds but I don't know if they make their own adaptor(probably)or buy one.

You've got a Shoebox? Then you're using an 8BA. Does it have a stamped steel bellhousing? If so, you're in luck! Buy any of the narrow pattern T5 transmissions. For shifter position, gearing, and bolt pattern, I'd look for a World Class trans from a V6 Mustang. You'll have to trim down the input shaft, open up the bearing retainer hole in the bellhousing, drill one new bolt hole in the bellhousing and weld a tab to the bellhousing for the other bolt hole. The two bottom holes line up perfectly. You should be able to keep your stock throwout bearing stuff, and stock clutch. You'll have to buy or make a new pilot bearing or bushing. You'll also have to lose the column shift and cut a hole in the floor for the new shifter. I can't imagine an easier car to do this conversion to, or an easier conversion method for this car.

If you use one of the adapter bellhousings they require you to use either a GM clutch fork, or the early Ford style, AND they cost more money!

You might want to check this site. Some good info on adapting T-5s.
