Well as Sundays go yesterday was GREAT! About 5 years ago I was hot to get a '33 Coupe. Looking for a Three Window, but also understanding this was tall Cotton and a Five Winder would also quell the itch. The Universe is a funny place. Dave just happened to have one he was willing to part with. A Five Winder, Body and Frame. The rest was up to me. This was a good thing as I just happened to have the axles from under another project to make it a roller and get it home. Plan was to get it on the road ASAP. Now Dave up North is one amazing Human Being. The deal was parts and cash. Both of us walked away happy in the end. But there were some complications, and we worked through it to a very positive end and a lasting friendship. Than you Dave for your patience through it all. As mentioned - Fast Track onto the road, but the Universe has other plans sometimes. In the past 5 years there has been a significant amount of life changing and altering events to put it very mildly. So needless to say fast Track turned back burner real quick. I am not ungrateful one bit for being here and everyday the remembrance of those that aren't or can't do the things they love is first on my mind. We lost a lot of great friends and Hot Rodders in the last 5. May they all Rest Easy and the rest of us find peace. Sorry this post took so long Dave, but I know you understand more than anyone. Thank you for always being positive when we talk! And Gary this is the old broken V8 you gave me with the promise of it being made to run again. This was a fight, but pretty sure you knew I was too stubborn to give up on it. Mission accomplished! Run it does and well. Thank you Gary There's a ton of others who kept prodding me along. Thank you to all for this. Truth is I've tried at least once a year for the past five to give up on the Coupe. Thank goodness it never took me up on my weak points. The final push is completely the credit of Lando, my son and fellow thread head We were all set to go down to LARS. However he's wiser than me. "Dad instead of going to LA and buying stuff we don't need and spending time, let's stay here and get your Coupe Running". Again He's smarter than I am Enough Sentiment. With enormous Gratitude and a Humble Heart the '33 and I went for the first ride. The first two photos are as found and loading up. The last is last night at Dusk enjoying the evening. Free At Last!
If I could make emojis on my phone, I’d have put a bunch of thumbs ups for you. Let’s see if the new phone will. Edit: Nope!
Looks great Tim. It's always such a great feeling when your project moves under its own power that first time.
Well, She's not quite ready for that yet. But soon. Thank you for the interest. I've got some clean up to do, then I'll put a couple more photos up here. - Tim
