my buddy is looking for a steering box for a 50-51 pont. or a rebuild kit or a box from something else that would cross over. any help would be appriciated todd
"My old Hollander says 50-52 Pontiac only." That might be only because the whole ***embly included the shaft and other versions had different shaft lengths. I think you need to try a couple of approaches to dig deeper: Find someone with Chevy and Pontiac parts books, and see if parts such as beaings and gaskets are the same. If they are, likely you can use many parts from Chevy restoration places. Also, try to find the generic manual for this time period--I think it's either Motors or Chiltons--you need the one that has a section up front covering components used on multiple makes. This one will tell you explicitly what model of Saginaw you have and which other cars use it and might be parts donors or a better parts availability than Pontiac.
