    Hey y'all,

Just picked up a 51 2dr Bel Air, and I'm kinda stuck on bodywork ideas. The car's staright as an arrow, and only 2 tiny rust spots on the rear wheel openings...no biggie... What I need is some pics of some mild customs for refference, and ideas as to how I want to do this one.

I'm stuck in Afghanistan for another 5 1/2 months, so I have plenty of time to mill over ideas. Any pics, sketches, thoughts, etc y'all can send my way would be more than greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Dan

I think this is very good example of a very cool & mild Bel Air Custom, definitely the direction I'd go.Check the "incredible Chevy" and "Kustom"-post for more inspiration, that'll do.

Search the threads here (try 49-54) there are a few threads with nothing but pictures of these gorgeous cars with some unbelievable custom ideas.

Hey man, Merry Christmas. Thank you for all that you're doing over there. I hope the few months you have left in Afghanistan fly by so you can get to work on your new baby.

Just for the record, '53 is a different body from the '51-'52.

'53 is virtually the same as a '54 except the grill front fender area and trim.

'49-'50 have different 1/4panel/rear fender shape from '50-'51 and then there's the HT...
