50 Buick Hood Mod - Anyone done one?

The hood of my '50 Buick is pretty cool. A twist of two screws and the hood lifts right completely off. It's a pain tho and a two man job. Otherwise you can lift either side, which does not give the greatest amount of room to work. I've seen (can't seem to find at the moment) where some talented fabricators have modified this hood to open on front hinges sort of like an older, perish the thought, BMW. Has anyone modified the way their hood opens on a 50-53 Buick? Any ideas, pics, etc??

my 48 buick hood opens either side. open both sides and it lifts off. cut one up for my 54 GMC hood
