At last I am getting round to sussing out the way to hardtop my 50 chevy. It was a 4 door I have chopped the roof 4 inches and stretched the doors 7 inches. Does anyone have photos of homebuilt hardtops? Any ideas would be great.

Looks good.Do you have a web site for the buildup on your project?Interested in the "moredoor to 2 door" build ups.

  4. Not a bad idea! A friend of mine, Allan Bergman, built this one out of a 4-door that was in even worse shape than yours (rusted away up to the middle of the doors!).

  8. Here are a few more of Allans. The build up shots are Allans own photos, and they among the other color shots of the lift-off was published in Power Magazine back in 1989. Today Allan have also reworked the front of the car.
About Dublin: My own custom is still in the works (54 Ford 4-door turning into a chopped 2-d) by may I put your invitation in the next issue of Lead Letter?
