Need help. i own a 1950 ford car, i'm getting ready to put a 350 small block and ****** in it,i'm curious about the tire rod clearence with this motor, also the car has been lowered. Is there a conversion kit or blocks available? This is my first 50' conversion so any help would be great.

  2. The usual thing done if there was a tie rod/engine pan conflict on swaps done back in the day was to install a dropped tie rod.

If you don't need much clearance you can cut away part of the pan and weld a 1/4 section of longitudinally sliced exhaust pipe into the pan where required.

Make sure you don't interfere with pump or pickup.

you can get the dropped tie rod from jamco engeneering theya re your best friend and have tons of stuff for you and your box..

as for cutting into the pan well I have seen it done before , but i would rather have more oil circulating than less so what we always did with the boxes was just raise the motor higher into the car.. if memory serves me correctly you should have to work the sheetmetal on the firewall and tunnel
