You said ( Fibergl*** KIT CAR ) and the steel body won't be used! What a waste, I hope your kidding. Kit cars = NOT HAMB friendly.

I never understood popping out copies of a Custom car.
The individual that buys a fibergl*** Custom doesn't "get it". The entire idea of a Custom is to individualize the car and make it "yours" and one of a kind, not a replica of someone else's Custom.
I can't imagine dozens of these cruising around; separted mainly by paint and wheel choice. Folks will recognize it a mile away; "here comes a _____ Merc.

Thanks for all the comments good and bad. I'm all about the metal work (that's how I make a living) so fibregl*** doesn't sit well with me either.I would go with caddy caps & maybe pontiac or chev round tail lights.I't was a 2 door & there's a bit over a 1000hrs in the metal work!!
    Cheers Steve.

Not my style. You do very nice work though.
There's so many things about a Merc that makes it stand apart already. When I see someone try to do something different,or new,it takes away from style that made these cars so special. Many of the things that feed my p***ion for 49-51 Mercurys have been removed. Just like that guy on here who is widening his Merc to fit a late model car. Don't get it at all!

I'd like the "plug" when you're done with it. Fire up my torch and melt some lead. I haven't done that in 20 years. Fibergl*** is for surf boards

Very nice build. I like it all, especially the idea of those large hinged skirts.......I don't mind the tail lights either, but those wheels gotta go...
    Cheers.........

The wheels take away from the overall look.

Metal work looks Fantastic, you can see your many hours well spent, what about the front bumper, is it a 48-49 Cad or 56 hevy or something else?, I'm looking to make the same style for my Merc, Thanks

Different! Lot's of high quality work here. I am the type of person who thinks inside the box, consistently, with cars. It's refreshing to see someone think outside! I like a lot of your ideas.

    Thanks Guy's,
It's a 49 caddy bumper Eyeballjohn! It's been cut and filled to smooth it out no over riders or numberplate recess.

looks great your work is fawless but the wheels ruin it

  22. For someone to pull fibregl*** bodies from a plug, the master had better be flawless... Looks to me like you did that. The style is not my taste, and I get the impression it's not necessarily your taste either, but you took on a herculean job and I'm sure the client is thrilled and got exactly what he asked for!! Will they be replicating the bumpers in 'gl*** as well?

    Super workmanship!

  23. Wow, dozens of comments on the wheels.
I understood that they were only there to wheel the car around.
    Not a permanent fixture.

The bumpers are going to be fibregl*** or stainless steel, depends how deep your pockets are????
    Cheers Steve.
