I can try to take a pic from a wiring manual I have, that covers 50 though 56 US cars. These would show more than the ones already posted.

Here is a huge pic. Keep clicking on the pic to get the small expand-icon showing in the lower right corner, then click on that to get full size.

Hi, what are the numbers for next to the wiring and can you post a pic with the pages with the corresponding number and name?

    Does that make sense?

    Regards

Are you replacing the original wiring ? You can buy the entire "factory copy" vehicle harness,...it's exact color code, and connectors as factory. I did a 50 woodie for a customer,...He had purchased a complete vehicle harness from, I believe, MAC Motors.

That kit comes with as perfect a diagram as you could ever want or need.

I purchased all the harnesses from Mac's and they are made by Bauer Electronics in Bend, Oregon. They fit & work just like original but they don't laquer coat their wire. If I do it again though, I'll but direct from Rhode Island Wire. The prices aren't far enough off to make a difference and RIW laquer coats there stuff to make it last longer.

You need to find a copy of a ch***is parts catalog for the Mercs. They started with the 49 model year then updated them every year through 1953 to include models in that range. I own only 51 cars but I use both the 49/51 catalog and the 49/52 catalog to find parts. They updated part numbers each year to best available for all of the models in the range. If you find a copy it will show you what all those root part numbers are for. Knowing the latest available part number for any given part is handy when scouring Flea-Pay for NOS parts.

Get the CD for Lincolns & Mercs and you won't regret it. http://www.detroitironis.com/
The CD for the 49/51 series Lincolns & Mercs has a lot of information about Lincolns and Mercurys plus the O/H manual. For overseas folks this might be a very good start that you can get right now and not have to worry about paper manuals for a time.

The ones that 1950-Mercury posted don't do much on their own but along with the actual diagram that F&J posted they give a guy a good idea of what he is looking at.
