Hey guys, wondering if anyone could give me some tips here.
I need to remove the rear gl*** of my 50' merc and the rubber is still in good shape. Is it possible to remove the gl*** without ruining the rubber seal or cracking the gl***?
    Thanks in advance.

Should come out easy if rubber is soft, have somebody stand on each side to help hold up pressure on it , while somebody inside keeps pushing while moving the rubber.

If the rubber is newer and soft, you have to work the rubber over the lip from the inside. Some real thin strips of plastic (like a cut up bondo squeegee would help) and work your way around. Soapy water up under the rubber from a spray bottle would help if possible, and someone on the outside (maybe two people if possible) to hold the rubber off the gl*** as it comes out would help as well. I would start at the bottom center and work my way to the ends, by the time the whole bottom lip is free the gl*** should pull out fairly easily I would think.

If the rubber is only a few years old it'll work, but if it's original rubber, even if it feels soft and flexy, it's probably going to crack and then you may as well just cut it out.
