Ok , I know someone out there has installed a 605 PS Box in a 49 or 50 olds. I would like to know any and all points that you can give me so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Also important is the lack of bolt holes on the 303 engine. I would like to keep things 'as is' on the engine, i.e., I can't move the generator over to the p***anger header side like later olds because the inner fender panels are too close to the engine. This is a very nice restored 50 olds convert and I just can't bring myself to "cuttin it up"...not yet anyway. SO, if you can give me some advice I would very much appreciate it. Also, is there a two groove belt pully out there that will bolt up to my crank snout or am I stuck with one groove pully. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Hey Mister T, Sorry it's taken almost a month of using this website to stumble onto your post. Haven't made the steering change you desire in my own 1950 Olds, so I can't advise you directly. However, have you considered contacting Tony at Ross Racing Engines located in Niles, Ohio? The firm is an Alliance Member on this site, and offers great parts and advice to we early Olds owners. Look 'em up and give 'em a call. Might be easier to solve than you think. Good luck and happy holidays! mr50s
A easier swap would be to find a p/s system off a 53 and grab the p*** exhaust manifold too so you can move the generator,I might have a p*** side exhaust manifold off a 53 if you do a p/s swap but who knows where it is.
