haha you are correct zibo dont kno how much metal is swept up off the floor should have a magnet on a stick and put it in a barrel. glad yer diggin the hood!!

the discs are quality i wouldnt use em if they wernt. you see how much weld i have to grind . seems like he has a good price on cutting wheels to hes sendig me some samples so i will et ya kno how those go compared to the nortons i use. ohh and i se the zirconia plus discs if ya buy enough he knocks the 5 cents off

welded on the hood some yesterday and ended up chasing a high spot around and shrinking it. i fucking hate high spots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! give me low spots all day long

Thanks for the info on abrasives. I suspect they'll be getting a whole bunch of orders! Too bad there's no way to tell em how we heard about them online. You should be getting perks.

My favorite shot of the car (so far) is the profile of the front nose. It looks great.

well about half of the hood is done . the days jobs been busy as of late so less time for the ol pontiac. but the roloc discs came and im on a roll now.

once agin i use 2 16th of an inch body shims to set my gaps.

makin the caddy hood run into the doors
    [IMG]

pic of half the hood finished up. i never though it was gonna turn of as good as it did.

the quest for a perfect gaps takes you to many strange places !!!

as you can kinda see i cut the hood to bring the lip closer to the cowl
    [IMG]
there ya can see the cut more clearley
    [IMG]

also been dealin with a ton of high spots this time around i bought the shrinking tip for my stud gun that thing is worth its weight in gold. so much more control then a torch well atleast i think so. back at it tomorrow .

    thanks man

surprised on the hood in general thought it would be much rougher to do that much welding on with no bracing. we shall see how it all turns out when i put the body line down the center:rolleyes:

no more 51 ford dash think im gong with a 53 olds dash now. the olds dash will look more factory.

And fit alot better right? Are they closer to the same width?

I looooooove Olds dashes. '53 and '57 are my favorite. Can't go wrong with one of them.

that 53 dash is pretty much gonna be as close to a bolt in as i am gonna get unless i went with a chev dash.gonna cut it behind the stainless and make it bolt together so i can just get the top chromed same me some coin. the rest will be body color except the glove box doors and ash trays will be chromed too. i really dig how the glove box is in the middle.
