Flop, after reading this whole thread, and after seeing the things you have done just on this ONE project, I'm pretty certain you could make any piece you wanted from scratch.
Yeah, it's winter, big fucking deal.. Fuck 'em... you can do it.

well i believe i have a set of quarters on the way they are paid for so we shall see what happens this time!!!

after dealin with a bunch of cadillac assholes( All Cads) that want 1000 a side for 4 doors quarters found a reasonable guy in cali for 100 a side so im happy

well im back in the saddle after some heavy drinkin and a night at the titty bar.

got the rear bumper narrowed and tacked together

heres where we started sorry for the shitty pics digi camera bats are dead
i layed the center section down and traced it to the bumper ends and cut it out

made the bumper bracket all one piece instead of 2 i dont kno why just seemed like a good idea in my head
    [IMG]

well as i can see now in the picture the passenger side of the bumper needs to come up a hair but you get the idea
    [IMG]

i really like the 53 bumper guards i dont kno why just somethin about them . i think its the gaudiness.

but since i narrowed it now i will have to addd to the bottoms of the bumper guards to make them fit the bumper you can see the big gap now . i will also have to add to the back of the bumper where its gonna meet the splah pan to make it straight all the way accross.

I think the bumper guards are the booze talkin. Or maybe the titties, I'm not sure. I predict you will eventually lose them in favor of something else. I think there a little bulky for the clean rear end. Lookin good on the bumper though!

flop...if you do end up changing your mind on the guards..check out the guards on a 49 caddy (the fronts)...they have a little bit sleeker look, and would adapt over pretty easily..

Maybe you could just let a little air out of the tire on the passenger side... that'll level it up!! :D:D

hahahaha!!! that fucking car was driving me nuts i needed a vacation:D

the bumper guards will most likly go to the corner of the shop for something more refined and more flowing if thats possible.(what slownlow said) i like them but they arent for this car... just there right now to get an idea of whats goin on and to cover the welds .

i do like those front bumper guards jim gotta check out my 49 caddy guy up the road and see what he has.

    probably right k13

haha i already tried that chadillac it still looked bad so i kno it must be real bad then !

    thanks guys

also found out today the state is takin our shop which bloooooows!!!!!:mad:

Hey Flop - Happy Birthday - to you and the project too. A true inspiration.

  22. Flop, Great work! You are an artist. Saw these pics of the 38 Buick Y-Job today and thought of your project. Stay as warm as you can. Have room for your project in my shop in Orlando.

thanks built. yeah 2 years ago today i got that car and to think it was gonna be a daily driver haaaaa!
    thanks bill

well got the bumper moved up on the passenger side and ssquared away

got the center tacke din place for good and now gotta go get some plate steel to make a piece for the bumper. also have to start fabbin up a ssplash pan for in between the body and bumper.

i guess since the bumper was narrowed about 7 inches it needs some metal added to the center section to make it straight all the way accross.
    that is tomorrows mission.

an an idea how it wil llook when its done with a plate on the back
wish i could smoot then bumper out but i dont think there is anyway possible. so im gonna have to section the hell outa some bumper guards to get em to lay pretty tight on the bumper and hide the welds and the indent from the factory.

    Nothin' wrong with that.

I always understood 'titty bar' to be a topless bar, but those never really caught on here (not for lack of people trying).
