Just think after you get this car done you'll have all those freaking HOT ROD LOVER CHICKS all over your pixel pontiac. Shoot if you paint it pink you will be invited to the Playboy mansion lol..

looking forward to pics

I think this car is going to bring you in a bunch of money if you choose to sell it.

Holy crap. I finally made it to the end. I've been lurking for several hours today and finally resorted to scrolling from pictures to pictures just to get to the end. :D Great fab work and the spirit to try different things as many times as necessary to get what you want.

Now that you're a free man, just make sure you don't piss all your new free time away at that tittie bar. Stay focused and you'll get it finished. ;)

ive been focused bkap the titties are on the walls in my shop
maybe 2 summers down the road 26t

got all the time in the world for the old poncho now works real slow noone to report to at the homestead life is good !!!

decided to change things for for a bit garnish mouldings! yes very exciting i kno, but i found out i really enjoyed doing these . have about 20 hours into all 3 so far . and why do ya ask so many hours ... mmmmmm chrome!!! yeah these babies are getting dipped . much easier welding that bumper filler piece together and gettin it straight then these 20 guage sheetmetal jobs but heres what i did so far.

found NOS set of chopped garnishes !! well atleast thats what my dad thought when he stopped by the shop today hes not into cars . he wondered where the hell they were cut !!

used chevy coupe back window garnises because pontiac was different you will see in the next picture
[IMG]

since the back windows are fixed in place the didnt have a very fancy moulding for some reason but i like the chevy ones better thats why i used them
[IMG]

also chevy had slider back windows i had to shave that ..the indent was where a handle went to open the window
[IMG]
shaved and ready to get polished .

Its those minor in the scheme of things, but major details that many people half ass or completely overlook on a chop. Excellent work as always, glad your back on the car.

:) Nice progress. Of course, itties on the wall and titties on the stage (or your lap, however they do it where you're at) are not quite the same thing. ;)

thanks ian, popo, buick, and of course you nexx!!

correct slownlow couldnt have said it better .the minor things make a car 100 times better in my book .

TITTIES in your face bkap haha!!

well back at it again today stopped home to get food then gotta get kerosene and back at it tonite!!

so today mission was to finish the windshiled moulding easy enough right . haha not when im involved !! so i have some weird pet peve about the little piece of metal that screws in between the frames to make them look like one and it looks like a damn after thought . so who would i turn to to fix a problem like this ....??? cadillac of course!! they designed it classy with out the damn screw from the factory!!

theres the offending gap i speak of above!!

solution 53 caddy parts car in the lot ahhh no screw hole in the middle!!!
welded and finished bottom of the other piece needs to be hammered out a hair to look good but you get the idea!!

Flop guess what, I might be giving up the hot rod stuff for a while now. The family needs to move to a bigger house (we want child #2 in the future) and I cant upgrade without selling the truck off along with some other stuff.. I was just going to go softly but I still see your progress and I get sad.

Hot rodding is in the blood though so its just temp...

PoPo..Take them youngens to any and all car stuff. They may grow up to be gearheads like you. Thats what happened to my son (23yrs) and my daughter (18yrs). The only problem is when they get their own rides, you dont have time or cash to work on your own!!:p LOL!! BUT I would not want it any other way!!:D It is way cool to have them along!! well after dropping by the inlaws they offered to watch our lil girl so we could go out. Went out with some friends and decided its worth more to be happy for the next year or so with what we have and if we get pregnant again just make it work in this house. So after drinking and thinking the wife and I decided to keep hot rodding and not move for two more years. Then I won't owe anyone anything besides my daily driver and the mortgage.

Back to it now!! Sorry for hijacking Flop, but your ride is my motivation for my next project!!! Hope to actually ride in yours some day, it'll happen!

I know how that goes. I wanted my car done by the end of this past summer and now I am hoping to get it done this upcoming summer by the time the shakedown rolls around.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Yeah, I thought I'd have the 54 on the road by last august. Then I decided to get more elaborate with the build, so I was aiming at this spring. Then I got hurt in Oct. and it slowed me down but I was still shooting to chop the top right after Christmas, well my injury got worse, and I finally had surgery last week, now I'm not allowed to lift anything for 6 weeks! By the time I can finally start the chop it'll be spring, and all the work around my place will take up my time. Winter's my time to build, and I'm just sittin' here accomplishing nothin' and watchin' everyone else's progress.:(

Thanks for the offer I may have to take you up on that. I'm the type that does everything myself, which probably accounts for the injury I received!
Yeah, can you believe it, a gallon of milk, I just bought some last night and had to buy the quart, since I didn't want to hurt myself getting it out of the cooler!:D
This is like deja vu all over again, in 2000 I was nearing completion on my 53 studebaker when I rolled a quad and broke my back! 4 1/2 years later it was still broken, it just wouldn't heal. By then of course the stude was covered in lawn chairs and other junk including dust and cob webs! Plus I was building a 36 ford truck when I acquired the stude and figured I'd jump on the stude and do it quick, but it snowballed into a complete rebuild, new suspension, motor tranny, rear, brakes, the whole enchillada, so the truck never got done either! I really only took on the 54 chevy to help my daughter, then she wisely decided to bail (at least she did all the hard and dirty stuff before I got it though). I got a freakin garage full of half done projects!
