I'm trying to help my uncle. He has a 50 Pontiac with a flat 6 and a stock 3 on the tree. He was attempting to "fix" some other issue. He took apart his shifter lever and now can't figure out how it came apart. Doesn't have any pictures from before and only a couple if where he's at now. So I'm reaching iyut to the HAMB gods hoping that someone has one assembled they can take a picture if for me. Or possibly an old repair diagram or just a better explanation if how it's supposed to work. He was telling me about a spring or something that he has that goes in there and just can't get it back together with the spring. Here are the pictures my dad took while he was up there the other day. It's all I got to go on.
He's missing 2 cup shaped pivot deals that fit in the shift handle holes, a kinda mousetrap spring that holds them in place, mast jacket to pivot screws, and a coil spring for the end of the lever on the column. The hardware may be stuck in a baggie somewhere if he's lucky. Hope he didn't take the lower end of it apart, too. The parts look the same as '49-'52 Chevrolet, but don't quote me on that ...
