Just completed the 12v system on my '50 Ford. I've been told that generally speaking, using 6v switches in a 12v system is OK. I opted to re-use the original 6v 2 speed blower motor switch as I couldn't find a 12v switch that would work with the stock dash bezel. (Yeah, I know,.....I'm fussy) While it does work, the motor seems to run on the slow side. I have a Cole-Hersee that will work, but not with the stock bezel. Can anyone suggest an alternate switch or other solution to speed this motor up.

All the switch does on "high" is turn the electricity on..doesn't regulate voltage at all. The "slow" speed on the switch should work ok on either 6 or 12 volts.

If you are using the 6 volt blower motor it should be spinning like crazy even on low.

I neglected to mention, I'm using a 12v blower motor. The 6v switch is probably OK....it just seems to be running slow. Maybe I'm just too used to the efficient modern systems in my late model vehicles.

I'll just have to machine a new bezel nut to make it work with the stock bezel. Thanks

Try adding a 40 amp relay, did you add any relays when you did the upgrade to 12 volts ?
