50 Worst Cars of All Time

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by damnfingers, Mar 30, 2008.

  1. Don't know what the hell these folks are basing this on, probably read a whole lot of books on 'the worst cars'. Many of these are not only good cars, but collectable as well (though that doesn't always mean good).

    Is this guy basing this off how the cars worked in the period? How they are looked at today? Mechanicals? Hard to tell. It is very vague.

    BUT, he is a Pulitzer Prize winner, which is why anyone should care.

    After reading it though there are some funny bits. The Edsel grill looking like a vagina is funny. However, it is bound to put many cars that are maybe significantly flawed, hated by thousands.

    25 years of reading anything & everything on the Dymaxion (an inexplicable fixation), including numerous circa 6-page articles, and this keyboard monkey Neil comes up with the unpresidented "The first prototype had a wicked death wobble in the rear wheel."

    Sure it did.

    The worst POS today, in my opinion, must be anything Ssanyoong (or how the hell they spell it) produces. Saw a real ugly /%/¤ at work yesterday.

  5. I'd love one of these - looks a lot of fun (especially in modern traffic!!);

    BTW - the Fiat Multipla was pig ugly but actually an excellent family vehicle. It sat three across in two rows of seats and had a large boot (trunk) area. Very unusual for a European people carrier which normally have three rows of seats and nowhere to put luggage. The large glass area and high seating position made it a nice car to travel long distances in. It's a bit of a stretch to say its one of the worst cars of all time.

    I have never understood the animosity towards Edsels. They weren't any worse than the 58 Fords and Mercurys. I had a 58 Merc in High School and loved the the darned thing. There was a guy in town that had a 1960 Edsel. Looked like a 60 Ford done by Barris Kustoms. Say what you will about Edsels but at least they didn't look like jelly beans. Rusty.

  7. At this moment, my biggest dissapointments are the Ford trucks of the late 90s and up as well as Jaguars. What makes a car company choose to put spark plugs where you can't see them or worse yet make a stylish car that needs to go to the dealership every 30 days? After a while a smart person would either sell or invest in KY jelly for the bills that rack up.
