    Saw this today:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-...tZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Likely it'll be gone by the time most folks run across this. In that case, here's the text & pics I could get.

What do you think? Too good to be true? I'd actually decided to keep my OEM setup a long time ago, but have decided to p*** this on. Not pimpin' it or anything, just sharing what I saw.

You might want to make sure that it has the correct thermostat in it, one with a secondary plunger that closes off the by-p*** port when the thermostat opens. Otherwise some of the coolant just pumps in a circle thru the motor, by-p***ing the radiator. This is a common problem because guys some times just drop in a thermosat that fits the hole and has the desired temp rating.

    It should look like this:

For mounting caddy 500"s, the 1970 rwd caddy mounts work great. (and they are under $5 each at Rock Auto) They bolt right to the block, and have a stud sticking down at an angle, so it's easy to make a flat frame bracket to mate to it and then weld the bracket to the frame.

my 500 Caddy project does not qualify as hamb, but if any brave souls dare to check it out for ideas how to put a 500 in just about anything without buying any kit or expensive stuff: http://public.fotki.com/HemiJoel/elcamino/

I'd never actually heard of them until now.

Just curious, but what all have you guys heard about them? What part is ****? Have enough folks had bad enough of an experience with them that it spread around the world enough for it to be an accepted fact that they put out a bad product? I'm all sorts of curious, now!

And here I thought I was doing right by y'all and p***ing on a novel solution for folks with these cars... Sorry, folks! I had no idea!

Hey Fellas, think its time to put this one to bed and close this thread. FINALLY , after 4 long years, got the car to the point where it could be "driven, although not perfect. Owner/friend just does not have enough funds to allow me do what it takes, and I have too many other side projects, that are cash paying. Yeah, I lost some money, but I learned allot and met some cool people along the way. Thanks for all the replies and interest in this project.

  11. My 50 Buick has a 472 Cad in it and it took Sanderson block hugger headers, a oil filter houing off a front wheel drive, also an oil pan with a rear sump pick up. David Lord did the motor mounts so I don't know what he did. Good luck, Rags
