It was thursday night and I asked my pops (Dirty2) t ocome over to the shop at night to help get the sedans brakes bleed to see if I could get my rear brakes working alittle better. We bleed them, me, him, and Ryder my son, got them all adjusted, packed the rear bearings and set it all bnack down, only to take test drive to find out nothing we did really helped.

So I said forget it, I am tired of thrashing on all this customer stuff and then just thinking I can turn an key in mine and everything is fine on the day before you are going to take a 500 mile road trip.

So there I stood on the fence contemplating whether I would even go to Billitproof, tx or just stay home and focus on customer stuff like always. What would I take if I went? Whould it be my daily driver, would it be mommas Honda?, or maybe just catch a ride with a friend, I always can jump in with pops.

Well Pops (Dirty2) got a call from Danyelle that had been visiting her mom in Amarillo, Tx. She was ready to come home to hot rod country again. I got a call from my dad and he was not going to be able to roll to billitproof because he had to meet to get Danyelle at 1pm in whichita Falls, Tx.

The baddest news came friday afternoon, My dad called and said hey why dont you take the roadster to Billitproof, I got it all tidied up, topped off, insurance and tags are in the seat, I said HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So all this time you have been reading this story you are probably wondering where the heck the Granpas Rodater fits into this? Because my son Ryder thought it was the coolest thing in the whole world that we were going to take Grandpas Roadster all by ourselves. I gotta admit I was pretty stoked myself! I mean who dont want to drive a 32 roadster in texas, to one of the baddest shows in Texas with your son riding shotgun. It just dont get any better

Heres some pics of cruising down

So we rolled into Corsicana to meet up with Mike Weaver (Peckerhead 28) here on the Hamb in his coupe around 8am about 2 hours late. We wont go into why I was late.

We had a awesome drive down 45 to buffalo where we turned off to head over to Giddings, TX. I guess I just dont remember that side of 45and the east side of 35 being that pretty. It was a awesome drive down with no problems at all

We got to the show around 11 am and it was already packed, this place was awesome, Lots of parking, shade treas, it just had a awesome feel to it, kinda like sitting in your backyard after a hard days work watching the kids run around, it just felt rite! There was a great turnout. Lots of 32's I have never seen, like most shows we can gripe and gripe about the ratty stuff but the quality of the good stuff way over topped the junk. If you made it over to the awards povilion at 3:30pm there was not one car over there that anyone on here would not love to have!

We go to power park in the middle cause it was hot and we did not care, we were gonna hang out at the car we were there to have some fun! And cooking out on Pecks grill ruled. Sure amd glad he always brings it

Very cool. My 10 year old grandson likes the hot rod. I pick him up from school occasionaly in it.

Love the w/s shot with the splattered bugs, good way to judge how much fun ya had.

And those chicken strips look tasty, Ryder's a good lookin' kid.

Killer pics of Mikes coupe and Danny Roadster in frot of the ol station, but nothing beat pics of Ryder and that grin.... Hot rodding is in good hands for the future and especially for the "Dirty" tradition

Saw the roadster at the show. My son liked your car but said "I like the car but the car seat has to go" I thought that was one of the cool things about the car when I saw it. I knew whos car it was.

Eric's right, the car is looking good.

Cool that your son appears to enjoy it.

So, is the roadster bug creeping back into you?

Didn't have to ask any one if a good time was had. Just took a look at Ryder and it tells me all I wanted to know. Ryder dosen't know it right now but in about 10 years take the old scrap book down and let him take a look. I believe he will remember without a problem--PRICELESS. Thanks for sharing
