Another way of working out the ID of the motor is to run the stamped engine number which is located on the rear of the block near the 5200 casting number. This number should correlate to the model of car the motor was in,for example the engine number was the same as the vin number on my 1970 coupe de ville until I put the 514ci (60 over 500)in it.
