so i picked up this distibutor at the swaps today, figure it hadda be worth the ten spot i threw down for it...

its a mallory, part number YC-465-HP "double life" distributor for a small block chevy, dual points with mechanical tach drive. most definately 50's vintage.

issit a good score, or a great score? i know it would be bitchin for a period rod...

too lazy to take a pic.

    yeah you did good,

I paid fifteen times that, but mine came with a tach and cable and had been converted to Unilite.

I'm running mine with a Crane box and have no complaints.

I have read that on some the shaft spins in the aluminum housing with no bushings?

    anybody have one like that?

cool, yeah i figured i could just fire it with a electronic box, should not be any different than converting a later one. sure looks good behind the afbs on my dual quad weiand(why-and!)intake.

i suppose though, the cap and rotor are made of unobtainium.

i was happy as **** walking away from that guys booth, also got from him a armful of mags/books, including an original triumph chopper guide, a couple triumph factory workshop manuals, some little mags, etc, for only another $10! easily over a hundred bucks in literature. good thing i dug past them mulletmover magazines!
