so, w/ my 51 plym, if I do the front shock mount relocation trick (move the top mount to the frame rail),will the original shocks have enough stroke length?
I just put new ones on over the winter so im hoping they will work :)

It will be easy enough to figure out once I climb under there, but just wondering if anyone knows for sure.

    thanks, jeff

  2. I doubt it ,those are only like 8 inches long,,,,,,,,,

  3. They will be to short.

I relocated the shocks on my 48 Dodge and used #16525 Sport Rider shocks from Auto Zone.

I would assume the length of the shock depends on where you move the top mount too, but the stroke length will be set by full drop to full compress on bump stop.
    time to do some measurements

any tips on how to remove the original top mounting stud?
I removed the 1 1/8" nut, and was thinking it would just hammer out,,, nope.
I also tried twisting w/ a pipe wrench,,,,,, nope
is this stud just a press fit, is it threaded in (dosent like like it)?
    tips appreciated.

You should be able to just knock it out, it's not threaded in. Probably just rusted into the control arm.
