Hello all I own a 51 Buick Special and a 51 Buick Roadmaster parts car has come up for sale. I need to know what, if anything is interchangeable? I'm pretty sure that there are not a lot of similarities? Thanks for any guidance!

You are correct....not a lot of interchange.....the Special is a GM "B" body, the Roadmaster is a "C" body....two different size cars. The engines are 4" different in length, wheelbases are different, etc., etc.

Special is 40 series, Super is 50 series and Roadmaster is 70 series. 3 x different bodies. With my intermediate bodied 46 Olds 76 (B body), not much interchanges with smaller 66 (A body) and larger 98 (C body) models.

In '51 there are no "A" body Buicks. That ended with '42 production in Buick model lineup.

40 Series are "B" body.......50 & 70 Series are "C" body, but 50 series are shorter wheelbase (ahead of the cowl) and they use the shorter 263 engine.
