There was a book out a few years ago on restoring/updating a 51 Chevrolet. Does anyone remember the exact name of it?

The GM shop manual is available online at the old car project. That should get you going depending on what direction you're taking the car.

I think Street Rodder published a magazine with all their 49-52 Chevy build articles. I have one somewhere but I havn't seen it for a while.

Yep they have to be customize not "restored" We don't want to get Jim riled up again talking about "restoring" cars.

Thanks for the clues, "Street Rodder" and "49-54 Chevy". It's called "Build a 49-54 Chevy".

By the way, I joined the forum back in 2009. I truly enjoy the site and appreciate the knowledge of the members.
