Thats some nice work Rob . I like the black wheels with the shannon cone plus trim rings , the car wears them well . I like the smoothed out filler panel you built for the rear . The whole cars look, flows. Good job !!

That's a good spot for the licence plate Rob. It's a shame to cut up the trunk and place it there. This would wreck the nice shape. Keep up the good work!

That would be Racrdad playing with his photoshop again! Its gonna get a folding plate under the rear pan tied into the key switch, I'm not cutting up that body for a plate.

Damnit, that looks cool! Only thing Racrdad ever photo shops for me are Vagina plates on my car! haha! visualillusions~ can you do the same pic for me with the stock grill in it and paint the door frames white to match the roof. This is one area I am struggling with, I have seen them both ways and I like both ways, however I cant seem to make up my own mind. Jake~ Hopefully I can get back to work on it in a couple of weeks, I got hit on my Harley last week by a dumbass that ran a red light so i have been laid up. Shattered the bones in my face, got a bunch of stiches inside and out of my mouth and i have a concusion and bruised ribs. Not much movement going on at my house! I will live and I am thankfull, but they totalled my bike. I am buying it back from the insurance company and i am going to rebuild it. Just what I need, another project! BrerHair~ get back to work, I need some motivation to get off this couch!

Damn that sucks. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Just my opinion but I like the look with the green door frames.

Not true - I photoshopped your car chopped and that just got you all stirred up and making comments like "No, I am not chopping this car!" :D

A lot depends on what you're doing with the garnish moldings. Green garnish = green posts, IMHO. Personally, I prefer the pillars to match the roof (from exterior perspective.) Remember, with the windows down, the pillars and garnish are sorta one.

Of course, the Iron Lords here in Charlotte all prefer chrome garnish moldings. Chrome garnish = white pillars, IMHO.

Goddamn, Rob. Haynes and Fullenweider . . . get Racehorse Haynes' firm after them. Probably on a cell phone, my guess. Speedy recovery, my friend.

If your recovery takes only few weeks,i think you are lucky.
Years ago,i broke almost every bone of my feets with my Harley.I was 6 months in hospital, had several surgical operations and it took a year when i was able to walk without the crutches.I didnt build anything for a while back then. But now i am able to walk, work, wrench and ride.It was a hard school, but sometimes shit hits the fan.
Later i rebuilt my bike and i've continued riding,so nothing has changed after all.
I hope you have a fast recovery.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I am itching to get back at it, and the photo shop pics are the best medicine for getting me back in the garage! I must say that being stuck on the couch all day isnt that bad when you can surf on the HAMB all day! I love this place!

Chuck~ Sorry bro, I was really looking forward to riding with you. It will happen though, the insurance company totalled my bike, but I took the money and kept the bike so a rebuild is in the future!

Sorry to hear about your accident Rob, I'm glad you are doing well. Seems like every time I start thinking I need a bike, someone I know gets run over on one. You ex-minitruckers shouldn't have any problems getting that old girl sitting on the ground like the photochop. Do I since some "Trendsetter Rods and Kustoms" plaques in you and Racrdad's future? Lol

whats up droplord? Just counting the days till round up, you bringing your ride this year? We got mine sitting like the photoshop, we were just looking at options for the roof paint, trying to decide if i should paint the door frames white with the roof or the same as the body color. They have been talking about a Trendsetter reunion which would be cool to see everyone again, we all will probably look out of place without our MULLETS! HAHA! See ya at round up!

Unfortunately mine will not make it this year. The wife and I had a little boy this past Nov. and progress on the car has slowed quite a bit since. On your's, personally I like the door frames body color. It takes some of the dumpiness out of the roof. See you at RU!

Just got to this thread and have to say your ideas and work look awsome!I just stumbled into my dream ride.It is a 51 chevy two door that already has a 3" chop.It was started at Moores Hotrods and I got in progress.Tommy does great work and the top looks it.I have to finish the car myself just like you are doing.I was looking at the bumpers last night while having a PBR trying to figure out what would look good. Now bingo yours are exactly what I was thinking. After seeing your pics I know it will look great. Thanks for the inspiration.

Jake~ doing better! Still a little sore but I am about ready to get back at it. I am going to help JMD82 (Jason) work on his car Saturday and then Sunday I am going to Racrdad (Doug's) to help him. I'm still a little light headed and have dizzy speels so I am going to start by working on their shit in case I really screw something up! haha! Then it will be time to get back after the 51!

DirtyEd~ Glad you liked the bumpers, I'm sure they will look fantastic on your car!
